Why should a 50L ballot box be designed to fold down to only about 5cm thick? For an island country like the Republic of Seychelles, transport and storage efficiency can be just as important as the capacity of the ballot box itself. Election materials often need to go through transportation, distribution, collection, and storage for future use. Rigid ballot boxes with fixed dimensions can take up considerable space when used in large quantities, while the country’s warm and humid climate also places greater demands on the practicality of election equipment. Therefore, for district-level voting and other paper-based voting activities, a ballot box that can hold enough ballots while also being foldable, easy to store, and convenient to carry is a more suitable choice. Based on these practical requirements, the Seychelles customer customized a batch of 50L foldable PVC ballot boxes  from us.

This Seychelles 50L foldable PVC ballot box is made of black opaque PVC, giving it a simple and professional appearance. Its unfolded size is approximately 34 × 34 × 44cm, with a capacity of around 50L and a reference capacity of about 2,800 folded ballot papers. The top features a ballot slot approximately 26cm long, suitable for common paper ballots. The black opaque body not only creates a clean and formal appearance, but also prevents the ballots inside from being directly visible, making it well suited for formal paper-based voting environments.

Compared with traditional rigid ballot boxes, its most distinctive feature is the foldable structure. After use, the box can be folded down to approximately 34 × 34 × 5cm, significantly reducing transportation and storage space. The top uses a zipper-opening design and can be used together with security seals, making it convenient for pre-voting inspection and post-counting opening. Carrying straps on both sides also make it easier for staff to move the boxes during transportation and on-site deployment. For this Seychelles project, the black box was printed with a white Electoral Commission logo and area identification markings, making the boxes easier to identify and manage across different polling locations.

From a folded thickness of only about 5cm to full deployment at the polling site, these 50L PVC ballot boxes not only meet practical needs for transportation, storage, and on-site use, but also mark a new beginning in the cooperation between Ballot Expert and our Seychelles customer.
