Election time: At 7:00 on December 7, 2024, Ghana began voting for the national election. 6,000 polling stations were built across the country, and more than 18.8 million registered voters voted for the president and 276 members of parliament.

Election results

- Presidential election: On December 9, the Ghana Electoral Commission announced that Mahama won 56.55% of the votes in 267 constituencies where the vote count had been announced, and his main competitor Bawumia won 41.61% of the votes. Mahama won the presidential election.

- Parliamentary election: The National Democratic Congress won 186 seats in Congress (total 276 seats), gaining an absolute control advantage.

Related preparations

For this election, the Ghana Electoral Commission purchased a total of 20,000 hollow board voting tables and 25,000 PP plastic ballot boxes. To ensure the fairness of the general election, the ballot boxes were customized with plastic safety seals.
